In the university library you can get guidance to get started or how to continue in the processes of searching and writing. You can come to our drop-in tutoring at the library in Luleå or create a tutoring request. We also offer writing workshops -Edit-a-thons where you can focus on writing while also having the opportunity to receive guidance from the library´s writing tutors.

Tutoring - how does it work?
We customize the guidance depending on where you are in your search and writing process and based on the questions you have. The guidance can therefore take place in different ways, on-site in, drop-in tutorial, conversations via email, workshop-Edit-a-thon or a booked meeting.
Drop-in tutorial at the University Library in Luleå is open Monday–Friday 9.30–16.30. You are welcome there when you need guidance in searching for relevant information for your essay, your thesis or other project work. We guide you in finding search terms, selecting databases, searching in databases, citing and evaluating sources.
You can also create a request to get started or to continue the search and writing process. When you submit a request via the form below, we will guide you further based on your questions and concerns.

Tutoring - writing and presenting
What can you get tutoring in?
Tuition Swedish or English in:
Writing, for example:
- The writing process
- To structure the text
- To revise the text
- Language and style
Presentation techniques, for example:
- How to plan and structure your presentation
- Getting feedback on a presentation you are preparing
- How to create a clear and concise Powerpoint
This support is primarily for students at bachelor's level, but master students and PhD students are also welcome to create a tutoring request.
Edit-a-thon
The University Library organizes weekly writing workshops -Edit-a-thons – at the library and digital via Zoom.
Edit-a-thon can help you no matter where you are in the writing process.
Examples of questions we can help you with are:
- Academic language and style
- Structure, paragraphing and throughline
- Referencing and citing
We can also be a sounding board if you need help interpreting an assignment, for example. You do not need to prepare anything.
When it is on campus it will be hosted in B1259 on the entrance floor in the library.
It is drop-in both at the library and digital via Zoom, so no pre-registration is required. Stop by when you want and stay as for long as you need. Current dates and Zoom link can be found in the student calendar.
