Adaptation of spatial planning in the Torneträsk area due to climate change
A subproject within the interdisciplinary research project Climate change, impacts and adaptation in the sub Arctic:
Climate change varies due to weather and landscape, which in turn affects how people can use the land for their livelihood. Climate change is expected to affect land use in the sub-Arctic Torneträsk area, which will cause difficulties for local people and traders in the area. Even if measures are taken to mitigate climate change and its impacts, in the short term it is necessary to adapt to current and future conditions.
This sub-project on land use and spatial planning aims to gain knowledge on how climate change will affect the land use of local people and traders, their living conditions and livelihoods. The knowledge will be used to develop, together with actors and stakeholders, proposals for adaptation of spatial planning for future spatial planning.
