Road Safety & Accessibility vs Operation & Maintenance
The project is implemented by mapping and concretizing road safety and accessibility measures and the requirements of those who manage operation and maintenance. This is done by compiling already completed local studies, interviewing stakeholders and studying the conditions for further development in terms of design, materials and D&U vehicles. The latter part involves further interviews both individually and in the form of focus groups. The focus groups will work with a focus on solutions to identified problems.
The project is divided into two phases where phase 1 is a survey, i.e. a compilation and interviews of DoU staff (clients and contractors) to identify what problems they see with current design solutions. In addition to identifying the problems, the focus is also on identifying any implemented solutions to the problem. During phase 2, solutions linked to materials, machines and design details are then specified and concretized.
The project was funded within the Swedish Transport Administration's SNE-RPD Centre of Excellence - Road, Planning and Design during the period 2010-2012.
