Instructions for PC and Mac when downloading Inspera Exam Portal
When writing in the Inspera exam tool, you need to install the secure browser called Inspera Exam Portal. This is to gain access to the exam. This should be done well in advance of the exam.
When using the secure browser, you cannot open other programs or files on your computer if the files are not approved in advance.
To install Inspera Exam Portal you need a PC or Mac.
It is not possible to install Inspera Exam Portal on a Chromebook.
Inspera for PC
System requirements for Inspera Exam Portal:
Operating system: Windows 10 and 11 on 64-bit platform

Browser:
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Please note that you must have one of the two latest versions.

Microsoft Edge is updated by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser. Then select Settings→About Microsoft Edge. When the update is complete, a button called "Restart" will appear.
Installation guide for PC users (with Microsoft Edge browser and Win10)
- Download the Inspera-Exam-Portal file via your browser by clicking on the link https://ltu.inspera.com/get-iep External link, opens in new window..
- Click on "open file" if the downloads list automatically appears, this will start the installation and then go to point 5. Otherwise, you can find the file in your browser by clicking the three dots at the top right of your profile picture and selecting "Downloads".
- In "Downloads", move the cursor over the downloaded file. "Show in folder" appears when you hover over the folder symbol. Left-click on the folder icon.
- In the new window, right-click on the file name and select "Run/Run as administrator".
- A window appears with the text "Preparing to Install".
- An installation program is launched "Welcome to InstallShield Wizard for Inspera Exam Portal", and click "Next".
- Click "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and then click "Next".
- Click "Install" to start the installation of "Inspera Exam Portal".
- When the "InstallShield Wizard Completed" appears, click "Finish".
- The "Inspera Exam Portal" program is now installed and should appear on your desktop as a blue icon with the subtitle "Inspera Exam Portal".
** Some versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 have S-mode enabled. This means that you can only install apps from the Microsoft Store. How to start "Inspera Exam Portal" on PC and select the exam or do a demo exam.
- Click on the "Inspera Exam Portal" icon on your computer's desktop or search for the program via the search window in the lower left corner. Type "Inspire Exam Portal" to start the program.
- Now a window "Inspera Exam Portal" opens with the text "Welcome to Inspera Exam Portal". Read the text carefully.
- Click on "Next". A system check is now run, "System Check". Follow any instructions. For example, when checking "Environment" you may be asked to disconnect the extra monitor.
- When the system check is complete, the "Next" button flashes alternately in blue and white.
- Click on "Next" to get to the login for the exam. Read the text carefully and then click on "Authenticate".
- Then click on the box with the text "Log in with LTU ID" and then log in with the same login as for My LTU. If the login goes well, you can click on the flashing button "Next".
- If you are going to write a demo exam, do points 9 and 10.
- If you are going to write the exam, skip to point 11.
- Select your demo exam "Demoexam IEP (lockdown)" on the left side of the window.
- Enter the PIN code for the demo exam abcdef00 and select "Unlock and select". Then click on "Next".
- Select your exam from the list on the left side of the window.
- Enter the PIN code that you receive from the invigilator and then click on "Unlock and select". Then click on "Next".
Inspera for Mac

Apple Safari. Note that you must have one of the two latest versions.
To install the latest version of Safari, you must have updated MacOS on your computer.
Installation guide for Mac (with Apple Safari and MacOs Ventura browsers)
- Download Inspera Exam-Portal via your browser by clicking on the link https://ltu.inspera.com/get-iep External link, opens in new window. in your browser.
- Select "Download Linked File".
- In Safari, click the "Show Downloads" button in the upper right corner.
- Double-click on the file "Inspera-Exam-Portal..." to start the installation. Follow the instructions.
- When the installation is complete, after a few minutes you can search for the program "Inspera Exam Portal" via the search box in the top right corner. Note that "Inspire Exam Portal" must be dragged to the "Applications" folder in the Finder to appear in the Launchpad.
Note 1: Safari automatically deletes downloaded files after one day. You can change this by going to Safari→Settings→General and then clicking "Remove download list items" and selecting an option.
Note 2: You can change where your Mac saves downloaded files. Go to Safari→Settings→General and select "File download location" and choose a location.
Note 3: Apps downloaded from the "App Store" automatically end up in Launchpad.
How to launch "Inspera Exam Portal" on Mac and select the exam or take the demo exam.
- Search for "Inspera Exam Portal" by clicking on Finder and then on its magnifying glass. Alternatively, use the search window at the top right where you type in "Inspire Exam Portal".
- Double-click on "Inspect Exam Portal" in the search results.
- A window "Inspera Exam Portal" will open with the text "Welcome to Inspera Exam Portal". Read the text carefully.
- Click on "Next". A system check, "System Check", will now be run. Follow any instructions. For example, when checking "Environment" you may be asked to disconnect the extra monitor.
- When the system check is complete, the "Next" button flashes alternately in blue and white.
